When anyone born before 2001 hears the word “Venus,” these lyrics are usually to follow: “She’s got it. Yeah baby, she’s got it. I’m your Venus. I’m your fire, at your desire.”

This song, originally recorded by the Dutch band Shocking Blue in 1969, was made uber famous by London pop group Bananarama in 1986. Their version, which includes a perfect 80s music video, shot to the top of the charts in several countries. It’s iconic, and the perfect soundtrack for what will be Saturday’s full moon in Libra.

The Goddess on the mountain top

Venus is the planetary ruler of both Libra and Taurus. Like all planetary rulers, she’s gives off different vibes with each.

In Taurus, she’s focused more on the physical realms of beauty, art, romance, food, sex, and luxury.

In Libra, she’s more focused on balance, equilibrium, artistry itself, and of course, relationships.

If you’re wondering about the math on that particular equation, you can look at the traditional houses that Taurus and Libra rule, their elements, and their tarot correspondents for hints. These all inform the flavor of influence.

When Venus is off in the universe doing her thing, like retrograding for the past few weeks from Aries (fire) back into Pisces (water), that retrograde energy is felt more so by people with very strong Taurus and Libra placements - Sun, Moon, Rising, and especially Venus. We all feel it, but some with those placements feel it extra.

We’ve all been feeling this energy in our relationships. And since we’re retrograding, we’re reviewing, revising, readdressing, and just in time for spring cleaning: removing.

What are we removing? People we do not move forward with. Any relationship in your life that is not a “fuck yes” is a hard “fuck no.” It’s that simple.

Burning like a silver flame

Why am I talking about Venus during a full moon in Libra reading? Because that big bold beautiful silver moon is shining a spotlight on our relationships. It’s rising at the same moment Venus stations direct (meaning no longer retrograde) in Pisces.

It means there’s no hiding the truth. You know the people that no longer belong in your life. You spent July 18, 2023 – January 11, 2025 focused on this area. Libra was in the South Node during this time. So, if you haven’t closed the door on those relationships now’s your last chance:

  • Delete the text thread and the contact

  • Hide the photo album

  • Block or unfollow

  • Move the fuck on

I’m being a little more crass this round because I want you to feel the gravity of the frustration. You know in your heart that these are people that don’t treat you with respect. They don’t see your talent. They don’t respect your kindness. And in the words of Billie Eilish: “don’t waste the time [you] don’t have.”

She’s got it. Yeah baby, She’s got it.

Venus is a badass. Whether or not you consider the Roman or Greek (Aphrodite) version of her myth, it’s clear from both that Venus wields a ton of power. Feminine power. Unique in beauty and sexuality.

Venus demands attention.

With attention, comes haters.

Capitalism and Patriarchy rely on conformity. Venus was formed from the sheared genitals of her father and sea foam.

My point is this: You know who you are. You know who you can rely on.

And anyone who hurts you, holds you back, judges you, or keeps you from your highest purpose?

we don’t give a flying fuck what you think
